Nii Lantey Bortey, the founder of CenRID, had the opportunity to live and work with various underserved communities in countries such as Ghana, Cambodia, Uganda, and Malawi, among others. His experiences helped him understand the various factors that influence positive health and social outcomes. As a result, he gained firsthand knowledge of the multifaceted and complex challenges these communities face. Motivated by a desire to address these issues and help others meet their basic needs, Nii Lantey founded CenRID. In 2017, he assembled a dynamic team of public health and development practitioners who were eager to create new tools, knowledge, ideas, and methods to improve lives around the world.
CenRID excels at designing interventions that are locally-based, and focused on capacity building and community empowerment. We strive to involve the community at every stage of the intervention process. We also conduct a readiness assessment prior to each and every intervention to ensure that the project is responsive to the local context, culture, priority needs, and build on the core expertise and capacities of the community. We believe this participatory approach is crucial in enhancing development at the basic community level, and a critical tool for sustainable development. This approach, coupled with our belief in pursuing accessible evidence-based solutions to problems, has been the underlying factor that drives the success of our program interventions.
Our dedicated leadership team is made up of experts who are committed to our mission and vision.
