Nii Lantey Bortey, Founder of CenRID, had the opportunity to live and work with various underserved communities in a host of countries including Ghana, Cambodia, Malawi, with the hope of understanding the various factors at play that determine positive health and social outcomes. Consequently, he gained first-hand experience and knowledge of their multi-faceted and complex challenges. The idea to spearhead CenRID was the result of Nii Lantey's drive to address these issues and help others meet basic needs. In 2017, Nii Lantey gathered together a dynamic team of public health and development practitioners eager to develop new tools, knowledge, ideas, and methods to improve lives across the globe Thus CenRID was born.
CenRID excels at designing interventions that are locally-based, and focused on capacity building and community empowerment. We strive to involve the community at every stage of the intervention process. We also conduct a readiness assessment prior to each and every intervention to ensure that the project is responsive to the local context, culture, priority needs, and build on the core expertise and capacities of the community. We believe this participatory approach is crucial in enhancing development at the basic community level, and a critical tool for sustainable development. This approach, coupled with our belief in pursuing accessible evidence-based solutions to problems, has been the underlying factor that drives the success of our program interventions.
Our dedicated leadership team is made up of experts who are committed to our mission and vision.
