James Malm is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Department of Finance at the College of Charleston. He teaches courses in Business Finance, Financial Management, and Financial Modeling. His research interests include corporate finance (especially corporate litigation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions), investments, and international finance. He specializes in empirical corporate finance with a focus on the link between the legal environment and corporate behavior.
He is a member of the American Finance Association, the Financial Management Association, Southern Finance Association, Eastern Finance Association, the American Law and Economics Association, the Society of Empirical Legal Studies, Academy of Economics and Finance, Gama Iota Sigma, and Beta Gamma Sigma
